Recommended Foods for Kittens

We recommend a diet specifically labeled for “kitten” until they are 9-12 months old. The reason for Science Diet, Purina, Royal Canin, Iams, and Eukanuba being recommended is that these companies have been around for multiple generations of cats to evaluate the full health effects of the food over a cat’s lifetime. They have also completed AAFCO feeding trials under the direct supervision of veterinary nutritionists to demonstrate the digestibility and availability of the critical nutrients that cats need in actual cats, not just theoretical based on a recipe.
